Big Brother is a reality show where contestants spend a lot of time together, and it’s not uncommon for them to form bonds that can last after the cameras stop rolling. One such pair is Memphis Garrett and Christmas Abbott, who have been dating since their stint on the show. Now, they’re getting married.
The couple met during season 22 of Big Brother All-Stars and jumped into an alliance together early on. They remained an item after the season ended and even traveled to Mexico together. They’ve continued hanging out since then, often uploading pictures and videos to their social media accounts. Last year, they hinted at taking their relationship to the next level by sharing matching Instagram posts that featured them in a home together.
Christmas and Memphis aren’t the first Big Brother alumni to find love post-show. Two other former houseguests — BB18 champ Josh Martinez and BB19 runner-up Nicole Franzel — are also currently dating.
When Christmas and Memphis first entered the Big Brother house, they were both in relationships. Both denied any sort of showmance and insisted they were just friends, but their fans ran with the rumor and claimed they cheated on their significant others inside the house. However, the pair have since clarified that they did not sever their ties before entering the house and have affirmed they did not kiss each other on Live Feed.
This week, both of them are up for eviction and it looks like they’re on the verge of being sent to the Jury House together. While there’s a chance they could still get their romance back on track, it seems unlikely. They’ll either have to wait until one of them gets evicted and the other is safe or until after the finale when they can try again.
Holidays in Memphis
While you’re visiting this month, there are plenty of events and attractions in the city to help put you in the Christmas spirit. Stroll down Beale Street at night and you’ll be treated to a parade with festive floats, marching bands and steppers that’ll have you singing along to classic holiday tunes.
For something a bit more low-key, head to the Memphis Botanic Garden for their annual Holiday Wonders event. The gardens will be lit up with more than eight acres of lights and fun for the whole family. Play in the falling “snow” and check out the Yuletide Yard, Northern Lights and more.
The best part is that you can do all of this without spending a single penny. So go ahead and plan your visit to Memphis this month — you’ll be glad you did.
